3M Combat Ear Plugs were designed to prevent hearing loss during combat

We offer assistance with cases involving use of the 3M Dual Ended Combat Arms Earplugs (yellow and dark green) issued from 2003-2015 and for those who have suffered tinnitus prior to discharge or within 2 years of being discharged and/or diagnosed hearing loss

This Janssen manufactured drug is used to treat Intersitital Cystitis. 

Users have reported the condition of Pigmentary Maculopathy. 

We offer assistance with use of Elmira with a diagnosis of significant vision loss or maculopathy.

 

Essure

Essure is a type of inserted birth control.

Users have reported requiring full or partial hysterectomy, migration, and/or a nickel allergy. 

We offer assistance to those who have undergone a full or partial hysterectomy and who have had the product removed.

Hernia Mesh

Hernia mesh is used to repair a weak spot or tear in the abdominal muscle (hernia).

Users have reported infection, severe pain, hernia recurrence, adhesions, organ damage, migration.

We offer assistance to those who have a polypropylene mesh implanted with a revision surgery or scheduled revision, severe pain, bowel blockage, adhesions, infections, and/or orchiectomy against the manufacturers Bard/Davol, Covidien, Atrium, and Ethicon.

 

HIPS Metal-on-Metal/Recalled Hips

This was used for hip replacement. 

Users have reported having to undergo revision/repair surgery and/or product failure. 

We offer assistance with Depuy ASR if revised and Stryker Rejuvenate, ABGII (revised or unrevised) and M/L Taper (if revised), devices that were recalled, positive cobalt test or revision due to failed device or metallosis.

 

IVC Filter

Prevents blood clots or pulmonary embolism. 

Users have reported migration, perforation of organs, fractures, and or post-implant thrombosis. 

We offer assistance to those who have had this device implanted 2003-present and against CR Bard/BPV & Cook Medical.

 

JUUL

This is an E-Cigarette.

Users report addiction and addiction-related injuries such as overdosing, nicotine poisoning, and possible variety of lung diseases.

We currently offer assistance to those who were 25 years old or younger at the time of addiction or addiction-related injury overdose/poisoning. 

 

Proton-Pump Inhibitors: Nexium, Prilosec, and Prvacid

These are used to treat persistent heartburn and acid reflux disease. 

Case we accept are those where users report chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, such as intestinal nephritis (other injuries are reported, but we are not accepting cases with other injuries).

We offer assistance to those persons who have used a brand name or over the counter medication with related acute kidney injury (hospitalization is required), or diagnosis of chronic kidney disease Stage 3 or greater (1 year of use preferred) and discontinuation of drug.

 

SGLT2

This is an inhibitor used to help lower blood glucose levels in people with Type 2 Diabetes.

Users have reported Fournier’s gangrene (genital gangrene). 

We offer assistance to those who have a diagnosis of Fournier’s gangrene, first use of an SGLT2 (Farxiga, Jardiance, etc.) prior to 10/28/2018, and use of the SGLT2 for at least 30 days prior to the diagnosis.

 

Surgical Staple

Surgery staples area used to close infections after GI surgery.

Users have reported tears, infection, organ damage after GI surgery. 

We offer assistance to those who had staples used after GI surgery between 3/2018-5/2019.

 

Talc

Talc is used a hygiene product. 

Users have reported ovarian, fallopian tube cancers and/or mesothelioma.

We offer assistance to those persons suffering ovarian cancer, fallopian cancers or mesothelioma diagnosed by the age of 70 with consistent use of talcum powder for at least 5 years.

Valsartan

Valsartan is a drug used to treat high blood pressure.  

Users report a cancer diagnosis after being exposed to NDMA gained Valsartan or combination Valsartan medication.

We offer assistance to those who were 65 years or younger at the time of diagnosis, 2017 or later and a diagnosis of liver cancer, intestine cancer (including colon and rectal), pancreatic, prostate, NHL or other blood cancers after ingesting tainted Valsartan (or combo drug) for at least 1 year starting in 2015 or later.

 

Zantac (generic in 2009)

This medication is used to treat heartburn. 

Users have reported various cancers.

We offer assistance to those who have a diagnosis of liver cancer, colon, rectal or other intestinal cancer, stomach, esophageal, pancreatic, prostate, NHL, or other blood cancers, bladder or kidney after ingesting Zantac for at least 30 days.
