COMMON TOURIST CRIMINAL ISSUES THAT WE CAN HELP YOU DEFEND

We welcome representation of tourists and visitors.  It can be overwhelming to be away from home and try to find an attorney when you dont have any friends or family to ask for a referral. It can be especially difficult if you have already left Las Vegas and cannot meet your attorney face to face before hiring her. 20 years of experience has shown us that there are special considerations to take into consideration in representing tourists.  Confidentiality is critical, and taking immediate action is key. If we start working immediately, it is possible in some cases to avoid criminal charges being filed against you, even if you were arrested.

We understand how difficult this process can be and are here to help you and your friends and family.

Common cases tourists are charged with are:

  • Solicitation
  • Drug Possession
  • Hit and Run
  • Battery
  • Domestic Violence
  • Jaywalking
  • Traffic Citations
  • DUI
  • Reckless Driving
  • Petty larceny

If you are not in Las Vegas, we can have a confidential, no obligation telephone meeting.  Most people tell me that they receive tremendous peace of mind at our first meeting. This meeting will give you an outline of the court process and a rough estimate of what the likely outcome of your case will be.  After discussing your matter, we will tell you how much our representation costs.

Our fees are very transparent.  All of the fee agreements are in writing and presented to you during our initial consultation so that you know exactly how much you are paying and what our fee includes.  Most people find that having an local attorney when you dont live in Las Vegas is very beneficial. There are many cases we can resolve for you, and you do not need to personally appear in court.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. My friend/relative was arrested.  Can I hire an attorney for them?

Yes.  You can hire an attorney for someone else.  It is possible for us to get an O/R release in some cases.  In more serious cases, where there isnt enough money immediately available for bail, we can visit them in jail immediately.

  1. Will my employer find out I was arrested/cited?

It depends on whether your employer performs background checks and how often.  Many times, clients ask us to write a letter of explanation of the charges for them to their employer.

  1. Do I need to appear in court?

It depends.  In misdemeanor cases, it is very possible that you will never need to personally appear in court as long as you have an attorney who appears on your behalf.

  1. Will I need to appear for the trial?

Yes.  If your case does not negotiate or you do not accept the negotiation, you will need to appear at the trial date.

  1. Who decides whether to accept the negotiation?

We negotiate the best deal we can for you.  It is up to you to accept or decline any negotiations.  We cannot and will not enter into any deals without your express permission.

  1. Do you take payments over the phone?

Yes, you do not need to pay us in person.  We have a system in place to accept online payments.

  1. Can I complete the court-ordered requirements where I live?

Yes.  In most cases, the requirements can be completed online or in person where you live.  Please note that most courts do not accept online domestic violence classes and they mandatory 6 months of classes are not available in all other jurisdictions.  You need to be especially careful when pleading to this charge if you live out of State.
